Craig Ackermann focuses on sexual and racial harassment cases, with more than two decades of employment law and class action experience. In the early 2000s, he served as second chair on a $23.5 million settlement for 150 female workers — at the time, among the largest sexual harassment settlements in the country. He has continued that work in the years since: a $1 million settlement in 2022 for plaintiffs in a sexual harassment case; a $1.3 million settlement in 2021 for 19 construction workers in a racial harassment case; a $1 million settlement in 2020 for 27 construction-industry workers in another racial harassment matter; and, in 2025, $725,000 across 14 individual racial harassment arbitrations against a paint manufacturer.
Craig also tries cases, taking Title VII claims to jury verdicts — including a Title VII sexual harassment and retaliation case in federal court in Los Angeles that was won at trial and again on appeal at the Ninth Circuit.
That work sits alongside an extensive class and collective action practice on behalf of more than 500,000 workers since 2007. Recent results include two 2025 meal-break class actions in Washington State — $16 million for 24,000 health care workers and $11 million for 11,600 health care workers — and a 2024 California PAGA/class action against a grocery chain that settled for $14 million, where he served as co-lead counsel.
He has also secured strong results for executives in employment-contract disputes, including a $3.4 million arbitration settlement for a finance executive and a $2.5 million arbitration settlement for a real estate executive who alleged wrongful termination and breach of contract.
